Welcome to the Budget 2023 engagement process.

To help the District of North Saanich understand the priorities of the community it serves, we are asking residents to provide feedback on the types of services the District provides and the quality and/or quantity of these services.

Each year the District develops an annual budget outlining how tax dollars are invested to support our residents and the community.

The District has traditionally provided only those services which are most important to the community and supplemented revenues from user fees and charges to lessen the burden on the limited property tax base. As a result, the District levies lower property taxes than most other municipalities in the region.

The budget engagement process allows the District to explore with the community appropriate service levels, funding priorities and acceptable property tax rates.

The Budget 2023 engagement process included a survey, which was open from January 27 to February 16, 2023.

We thank the 184 people who took the survey and provided the District with their feedback.
