The District of North Saanich is developing plans to improve the management of our drainage infrastructure throughout the District:

  • Drainage Master Plan: The Drainage Master Plan will guide how we plan, operate, and maintain our entire drainage infrastructure in the coming years as our community develops and as we face challenges like climate change and sea level rise. The work is being completed as part of the District’s overall asset management program to identify levels of service, system deficiencies, priorities for potential upgrades, and long-term operations and maintenance for our drainage system.
  • Tseycum Creek Integrated Stormwater Management Plan (ISMP): The ISMP will study the Tseycum Creek and McDonald Park Road Drain watersheds to better understand the relationship between drainage servicing, land use, and the environment. The plan will help manage our stormwater and water quality through recommended infrastructure improvements and best practices that preserve how our ecosystem functions.

Planning will be informed by existing policies including the District’s strategic priorities as well as input from key stakeholders, local First Nations groups, and the community. The plans will be our roadmaps for infrastructure planning and investment to control flooding and erosion, protect our health and environment, and work with community members towards a sustainable future.
